Trekking Itinerary
Arrival Day : Fly to Kilimanjaro then Drive to Arusha
Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be met by our friendly driver/guide who will transfer you to your hotel in Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule, you can relax at your hotel or explore the vibrant town of Arusha, known for its bustling markets and rich culture.
You will have a pre-trek briefing with your mountain guide in the evening, where they will provide an overview of the Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route, check your gear, and answer any last-minute questions you may have. This briefing ensures that you are fully prepared for the adventure ahead.

Day 1: Londorossi Gate onto Big Tree Camp
After breakfast, you’ll drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate (2,250m), where you’ll complete the registration formalities. From there, you’ll drive further to the Lemosho trailhead, where the trek begins. Today’s hike leads you through the lush rainforest to Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big Tree Camp).

Day 2: Big Tree Camp to Shira Camp 1
You’ll continue trekking through the forest, gradually climbing to the moorland zone. The trail opens up, offering spectacular views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau before reaching Shira 1 Camp.

Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp
The hike across the Shira Plateau offers stunning views of the Western Breach and Kibo Peak. Today’s trek is relatively short, allowing plenty of time to acclimatize.

Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp
Today is crucial for acclimatization as you ascend to Lava Tower (4,640m) before descending to Barranco Camp. The climb to Lava Tower is steep and challenging, but the descent helps your body adjust to the altitude.

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
The day begins with the Barranco Wall climb, a non-technical but exciting scramble. After reaching the top, you’ll enjoy breathtaking views before continuing through valleys to Karanga Camp.

Day 6: Karanga Camp to Kosovo Camp
After breakfast, we leave Karanga and move to Kosovo Camp, enjoying the alpine desert terrain. This camp provides a good acclimatization spot before your summit attempt.

Day 7: Kosovo Camp to Uhuru Peak – Descend to Mweka Camp
Start early to reach Uhuru Peak, the highest point on Kilimanjaro. After celebrating at the summit, descend to Mweka Camp for a well-deserved rest.

- Elevation: 4,600 meters (Kosovo Camp) to 5,895 meters (Uhuru Peak) then descend to 3,100 meters (Mweka Camp)
- Distance: 22 km (up and down)
- Hiking Time: 12-15 hours
- Habitat: Arctic (summit)
- Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 8: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate – Transfer to Arusha
After breakfast, we continue the descent down to the Mweka Gate to receive your summit certificates. At lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and T-shirts will probably be plenty to wear (keep rain gear and warmer clothing handy).
From the gate, you continue another hour to Mweka Village. A vehicle will meet you at Mweka village to drive you back to hotel in Arusha.

Departure Day : Hotel - Airport transfer
Depending on your flight time, enjoy breakfast at your hotel before transferring to Kilimanjaro International Airport for your departure.
